Suggest Treatment For Red And Swollen Painful Area At Injection Site

I was using cocaine and went through the vein and the vein leaked out the dope as well as blood. This undoubtedly happens to all users. Now i have a silver dollar size, red and painfull swollen area. It wasn t like this until i applied a cold compress alternating with heat. It s been about 4 hours since i missed. Any suggestions on how i can treat this problem myself?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
Intravenous drug users run the risk of injection site infection.Your description points to an injection site infection.I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination and to judge the need for antibiotics. If site infection confirmed , your Doctor may prescribe you a penicillin group of antibiotic like cloxacillin. In the meantime, an anti-inflammatory pain drug like ibuprofen may help.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
