I m a 62-y-o caucasian female, about 210 lbs, 5 4 tall. Since January I ve been on a weight-loss diet (1,400 calories/day, trying to balance 55% carbs, 25% fats, 20% protein, using MyFitnessPal). Definitely eating plenty of complex carbs, trying to drink plenty of fluids. I eat eggs/egg whites/non-fat cottage cheese & Greek yogurt/chicken, but do not eat red meat or butter, very little cheese. For weeks I ve had pretty bad constipation. Finally I gave up and have taken Milk of Magnesia -- 11 days ago, and then yesterday. It worked, but then after 10 days out the constipation was back. I really don t want to live with the constipation, because it s resulting in a rectocele. Also, I was diagnosed a few years ago with NAFLD. Losing weight is definitely helping with the liver pain (it s basically gone now.) I also have gall stones (first diagnosed 22 years ago), but avoid issues with them by not eating animal fats. BUT ... I would like to know if there is any reason *not* to take MOM with my liver/gallstone issues.
