Iv had a stye surgically removed because no eye gell or antibiotics will clear it. Iv now got another one on the same bottom eyelid as before that no medicine treatment is helping with so im going to get referred again to get it cut out. Is there any sort of disease that causes styes cconstantly. As i also have one on my other eye too!

Hi,

Styes are usually caused by a bacterial infection in the eyelid gland. It is possible to have recurrent styes, especially if the underlying infection is not fully treated or if the conditions that promote infection persist.

Here are some tips for managing and preventing styes:
* Apply warm compress: Warm compresses can be applied gently on the affected eyelid 3-4 times a day for about 10 mins. This can help to reduce inflammation and increase blood flow to the area, which can promote healing.
* Keep the area clean: Clean the affected area with a mild soap and warm water, and avoid rubbing or touching your eyes.
* Avoid wearing makeup: Avoid wearing eye makeup and contact lenses until the stye has healed.
* Take antibiotics: Your doctor may prescribe oral or topical antibiotics to help clear up the infection.
* Surgery: In some cases, surgery may be required to remove the stye if it does not respond to other treatments.

To prevent recurrent styes, make sure to practice good hygiene and avoid sharing personal items like towels or washcloths. You may also want to consider using a separate towel or cloth for your face and eyes. If you have any underlying health conditions that may increase your risk of styes, such as diabetes, make sure to manage them properly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
