Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cough Despite Taking Antibiotics

My daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia she got a shot in a doctor s office and antibiotics for the last 9 days the coughing was reduced significantly the first few days of the antibiotic and the treatment however the coughing is back really bad tonight she doesn t have a fever and we ve been doing nebulizer treatment for the last 3 days now, it seems as if the coughing came back with the nebulizer treatment what should I do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are two possibilities. She may still be wheezing for which she needs modification of bronchodilators. Your lung specialist can do that for you. postnasal drip can also cause the same. That needs steam inhalation only.
