Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Chalazion

Hi, I had a chalazion surgically removed abd within a month a new one reappeared. I ve been researching home remedies for curing chalazions and I seen reviews from many people saying that Apple cider vinegar can be used, also castor oil and activated charcoal capsules can be used to get rid of the chalazion. Do you recommend trying any of these home remedies or should I be rescheduling another op? Also am I now prone to getting chalazions all the time now?

Hello there,
It would be a terrible idea to use any of those home remedies mentioned. Infact all such things should be kept away from your eyes.
As a part of initial treatment use an antibacterial eye ointment such as ciprofloxacin twice a day along with hot fermentation for a week. persistence beyond this period can be considered for other forms of treatment.
since its recurrent do check with your doctor for
a) any refractive error ( b)lid margin disease such as mebomian gland dysfunction c)blood sugar level.

Hope this was helpfull. takecare.

Thankyou.
