Suggest Treatment For Rebound Headaches

I have been diagnosed with rebound headaches by a neurologist who handles migraine cases. She wants ti gradually cut me back from 1 Maxalt 10 every day for migraines every day plus give me amitriptyline and ondansetron ODT 4 mg. Is there a better way? I live about 250 miles from MAYO clinic, which my neurologist had migraine specialists. Is there a better way?

Hello,

You should take the medicines when in discomfort but try some natural methods to get rid of rebound headache or migraines. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, prefer staying in dim lights with humidifiers when in discomfort. Cold packs may help. Give rest to your eyes between work. Put cucumber slices on your eyes to relax.

Avoid oily, junk food. Maintain your eating time & take small meals 4-5 times a day. Drink water & soups, juice. Stay hydrated. Taking caffeine from time to time helps. Take adequate sleep, stay away from addictions if any & do regular exercise.

Avoid stress & anxiety. Ignore & avoid depression(physical or emotional). Take fruits and veggies along with whole grain foods. Avoid constipation(take laxatives). Avoid acid reflux, tae antacids & PPI's for help.
