Suggest Treatment For Raspy Voice And Non Productive Cough Due To Bleach Fumes

I am a 24 yo post living donor liver transplant reciepent at age 8. I work at a swim school where part of our weekly deep cleaning is scrubing down a storage area with bleach with no respiratory protective gear. Since my first exposure I have developed a horshness/raspy voice and round the clock non-productive cough. I am concerned about this condition worsening causing damage to my lungs which will cause problems for my liver and I do not want that to happen. A doctor I saw via my cheap no thrills obama care said I had largnygitis and put me on ceflix. What specialty should I see to avoid complications..a pulmonologist or ENT doc? Andrew

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The repeated ingestion of intense fumes of bleach is not recommended.

Either gear should be provided or the area should be better ventilated to prevent complications.

Reducing exposure is the main aspect of treatment that any doctor would recommend.

A ENT doctor would the specialist that may be able to advise additional therapy.

I hope this helps
