Suggest Treatment For Rapid Heart Rate And Neck Pain
I was in a recent MVA and I am having issues with pain in my neck. My physician prescribed Prednisone, which caused me to have a racing heart rate. So recently he gave me MethyIprednisolone, I am afraid to take it because of the possible same reaction. What is the difference between the two meds?
Hi welcome to HCM. I understand your query and concern. Drug induced reactions are quite common in your case with recent MVA.It is associated with heart rate abnormalities like irregular heart beat.24Hour Holter monitoring will help.Drugs like beta blockers will help to control these variations.Dose tapering will help to avoid such changes in the long run I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is pretty useful.Consult a Cardiologist for further expert management.Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
