Suggest Treatment For Psoriatic Arthritis

I began using cimzia one month ago with two injections week zero, week 2 and week 4. I have severe psoriasis, Psoriatic arthritis, RA and AK. After one month arthritis symptoms (flexibility and pain) improved dramatically however psoriasis got worse. My RA Doc and I are looking into changing from Cimzia to Remicade to better address psoriasis. I am also using narrow band photo therapy under the direction of a dermatologist. My questions - How effective is Remicade at clearing up and controlling psoriasis. How long does it take to see improvement with the skin? Thank you John Howard

Hello,

Remicade is similar to Cimzia but given as an infusion. They both are TNF alpha blockers. You can also add to Cimzia, a pill called Otezla, which can help with the skin. There are other medications too, which are not TNF alpha like Xeljanz.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priya Sadanandan
