I am a 47 year old white male having pressure, twitching and pain around my left eye. My primary treated me for a sinus infection twice, both times with antibiotics and prednisone and both times the problem cleared up and came back. I followed up with an ENT, who had done endoscopic sinus surgery on me 10 years ago. He ordered a sinus ct which showed polyps had returned and that there were a considerable amount on the left side. I opted for endoscopic surgery again and he cleaned out polyps in the frontal, ethmoid, and maxillary sinuses. Two weeks after the surgery I m still presenting with the same symptoms and the left side of my nose is plugged up/ obstructed. I went in for my 3rd post op appointment and in the process of suctioning out the left side I was told there was a polyp in there. How common is it to miss this or have it drop down after the surgery ? And should I be concerned about a larger problem like cancer? Would that show up on the ct?
