Suggest Treatment For Positive TPHA

the doctor said that i have to undergo treatment for tpha, which i did for 2 weeks and she also said that i need to do a blood test again to check if it is ok.this is my first time to have this, i am 46 yrs old and im too worried if this is already treated after 2 weeks.

First thing , if you TPHA is positive it is sure that you are having or had syphilis and hence going on treatment was the right decision.

But repeating the same TPHA test to know whether your syphilis has been cured or not is a wrong advise as TPHA once becomes positive remains positive whole life inspite of a successful treatment .

So to check whether the treatment was successful or not , you need to get a test called VDRL test . This test will show negative or normal values if the treatment has been successful .
