Suggest Treatment For Plantar Fibromatosis On Feet

I have plantar fibromatosis on both feet. One is quite large. They ve been growing for about 6 yrs I ve been to several foot doctors and they say there is nothing to do until I can t walk any more. They are painful at times, especially first thing in the morning when I m barefoot. Someone suggested I contact an orthopedic surgeon. I m not ready for surgery, but want to know my options. Is this the type doctor I should see? I ve also had bumps on my knuckles for years. Sometimes they hurt. I just read that they are related to fibromatosis. Will these growths grow elsewhere on my body?

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on healthcaremagic.com.
Planter Fibromatosis is beinign tumor(non cancerous) which grows planter fascia (sole of the foot).
I suggest you to seek advice from Podiatrists and get MRI done for better picture.
Apart from this you can also get you shoe modified like extra padding in shoe or provide you an arch support.
Further prevention of fibromatosis
1. Stretching of planter fascia
2. Proper and comfortable foot wear
3. Supportive footwear
4. Maintain healthy weight

Depending on findings on MRI your doctor may advice you cortisone injections(some cases it increases) and surgery.

Please revert back to me if you have any further infomation.
Thank you
best wishes
