Suggest Treatment For Persistent Lump On The Buttock
Hi. I had a fall down the stairs in February straight on to my buttocks. Over a number of days it bruised and was very painful. Then as the bruise started to disappear a lump started forming. The GP kept saying it needed more time as it was a big fall. Eventually I saw another GP who has sent me for an ultrasound scan. The ultrasound department ordered for me to go for an MRI scan. Both sets of results show soft fissure injury with a blood clot. The lump on the top of my right buttock is about the size of a small orange. I still get pain in it whether I m sat down for to long in work or whether I walk too much when I go shopping. I am on a list to see a general surgeon, but it s been almost 8 months now and the lump is no smaller and the pain is very inconvenient. I have just been taking painkillers from the GP as and when I need a decent night sleep. Because of the position of the lump I can not lie on my back and my sleep is disturbed. Will the surgeon do anything or am I stuck with this discomfort for the forsee able future?
Welcome to HCM I appreciate your concern about your health Dear as you mentioned the imaging report says it is a blood clot or heamatoma in the soft tissue. Tt is discomforting due to its location. The good thing is surgeon can help you by simply removing the heamatoma.it wont be a complicated procedure if the heamatoma has not much adhesions or tethering to surrounding tissues. so sit back and relax, you will get rid of it as soon as you meet a surgeon and his decision after examination.till that you can have painkillers for temporary relief, avoid sitting on hard surfaces and keep try lying on ur side. stay healthy
