Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea

Hi, trying to determine reason for symptoms today, female, age 59: Eyes hurt when I move around, no fever, (have gotten either some mosquito bites or no see-ums ) diahrhea for past two days, keeping hydrated, and took Imodium, very tired, sleeping a lot, aching muscular body?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having acute gastroenteritis infection...

It could be viral or bacterial cause

For five days treatment done Symptomatic with lots of fluid and water...
Fruit juice taken more...

ORS also should be taken to compensate lost electrolyte in diarrhea

Probiotic tablets can be prescribed to replenish lost flora

Avoid excess spicy foods and take small meals with frequent interval

If no improvement than I suggest USG and stool examination for further work up and Accordingly drug started

If non infective diarrhea confirmed than loperamide or racecadotril can be prescribed

Take care

Consult physician for examination
