Suggest Treatment For Persistent Coughs And Breathing Difficulty

Hi. So last may i went to my doctor because i had a really bad cough that was consistent and also would keep me up and night. My doctor thought that i simply had a cold so he gave me mucinex and tylonal, But I still had that darn cough once i was don with the medicine he gave me so i went back and he listened to my breathing and he said it sounded okay but i had a little bit of a wheezing or whining noise when i inhaled so he thought it could be asthma and he gave me an inhaler. I used the inhale for about three days and i was having a bad reaction to it i would start coughing and wouldn t be able to breathe between coughing fits. So i stopped using the inhaler and went back to my doctor. That time he took so blood and also tested me for pertussis. He late called back and said that i tested positive and he wanted me to get on the anti-antibiotics. Which i did but I have still been coughing and i sometimes have a difficultly breathing and my hands get cold and i feel fatigued and as if my lungs are full of water i just wanted your opinion on what you think and if so what i schould do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistant coughing and difficulty in breathing which is due to lung infection / bronchitis. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should get X-ray chest done. Get pulmonary function test done as well to find out extent of infection. Start treatment after proper examination. Avoid cold liquids, spicy, oily and fried food. Take diet rich in multivitamins. You should gargle with saline water. You should take cough expectorants
as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes,
