Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough Followed By Sneezing
I have a persistent thickly cough which I have had for several weeks. This is accompanied by sneezing occasionally and running nose. My mucosa is clear. I have used nasal spray and antihistamines all to no avail. I have also got a hoarse voice but this is probably associated with thyroiditis which I was diagnosed with following scans, and ent investigations. I take fluoxetine 20 mugs daily which I was prescribed six months ago following the death of my son. I am otherwise a fit 69 year old woman but a little overweight weighing 12 st 6 lbs. I am a non smoker and only very occasional drinker.

Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough Followed By Sneezing
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. This could be due to allergic rhinitis. The cough could be due to post nasal drops. I recommend the following. 1) A steroid nasal spray. 2) Antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine with montelukast. 3) Steam inhalation. You will be fine. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help you. Wish you a good health and speedy recovery. Regards, Dr.Paparaja S. MBBS, MS Consultant ENT surgeon
