Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough Despite Taking Ciprofloxacin

I ve had a cough for 2 weeks & was put on Cipro. I still have the cough & now the cough is every severe. Dr. has me on albuterol breathing treatment, steroids and amoxicillin clav. I m nervous that it is pneumonia & should I not wait to go to the hospital.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Please carry on the above treatment.

Do a chest X-ray and take a throat swab and culture sensitivity test, start an antibiotic for 2 weeks. Also, take syrup Bro-Zedex for one week.

If it does not subside, then we need to do blood tests and CT chest. However, for now, continue the treatment.
