Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough And Osteoporosis
Yes please. I have had a cough for some 4-5 years...Dr. said it was an allergy but it got a lot worse over the past few weeks. Nothing seemed to help but a friend of mine said he had the same thing and the dr. told him to take prilosec and zantac and it worked for him so I started taking it about 4 days ago and it really is helping. Now my concern is that I just read that this medication can cause kidney disease....I also have osteoporosis and sounds like that could be a problem with taking this medication as well. Should I stop taking it? Thank you!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent cough and osteoporosis persistent cough is due to chronic lung infection or bronchitis. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests and x-ray chest as well to check exact level of infection. Start treatment only after proper prescription. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will booster immunity. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. You should use mist humidifiers in room. You should take cough expectorants as well. For osteoporosis you should do regular exercises , also take vit D3 supplementation if your level of vit D3 is lower. you are taking calcium that is good.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
