Suggest Treatment For Persistent Constipation

For the last three days I have felt constipated. However I am passing a lot of pinkish mucous and light wispy feces. I can feel a large lump, ie turd that wants to come out but I just can t push it. When it s time to try, and I feel I have to go to BR I get bad abdominal pains until something passes, but it s not the lump just the loose stuff and lots of mucous. What s up?

Hello,
I would suggest for immediate relief try Lubiprostone but be careful with the dosing.

You can use Docusate for prophylactic purposes.

I don't know your age but remember pinikish mucus may be a result of chronic constipation or diverticulosis of the colon. Either way you must take care of your diet. Increase dietary fibers and decrease the amount of meat consumption at least for a short period. Try to avoid stress by creating a diversion and an active lifestyle.

Walking for 5-10mins early morning after drinking a cup of warm water might help you have a regular bowel movement.
