Suggest Treatment For Pea-sized Puss-filled Blister On The Arm

Hi, I woke up yesterday with a pea-sized puss-filled blister on my arm surrounded by a thin red ring. I talked to a dermatologist friend, who asked if I had been in the forest in Oregon/Washington lately, which I had. She suggested it could be Lyme Disease and the safest thing to do would be to get antibiotics. In accordance with her suggestion, I started taking Doxycycline Hyclate. The blister is now about the size of a dime, and completely filled with pus. It has not popped yet. This seems unlikely to be Lyme Disease to me, because there are no giant blisters in any of the pictures. What do you think this is? Could it be a spider bite? Should I pop the blister?

Hi.
As per your case-history sudden appearance of such a blister is most probably due to an insect-bite.
Lyme disease seems to unlikely as per your complains.
My advice is -
1. Use a topical antibiotic cream like fusidic acid cream on lesion twice daily.
2. Take an anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen twice daily.
3. Instead of doxycycline take either cefadroxyl or azithromycin tablet ywice daily for 5 days.

Thanks.
