Suggest Treatment For Papilloma Infection Of The Tonsil

Yes, I have a couple tiny pimples on my right palatine tonsil, two weeks after I had a papilloma removed from underneath my left one. Could this be from me comparing them constantly by looking at them both with my fingers? I didn t notice the zits on the right one until after the ENT removed the papilloma from my right one! Salt water? Thanks - no other symptoms. May have post nasal drip due to hormones or meds (which I m off of now).

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is very rare to see real HPV papilloma on tonsils but this is described in the literature and usually is caused by a virus. However, it may also be oral squamous papilloma which is a benign proliferation of the stratified squamous epithelium which results in a papillary or verrucous exophytic mass and in this case it should not recur after this is surgically removed once. You need to do blood HPV typization to see if this is of viral etiology. Then antiviral medications may be used.
