Suggest Treatment For Painful Tooth, Swollen Jaw And Tongue Post Root Canal

I had a toothach 7 days ago due to fracture of the tooth to the gum line I went to the dentist the next day because the pain was unbearable I had to go to 3 different dentists before any of them would do anything for me the first two just tried referring me some were else to get it pulled a month and a half later but I was in so much pain now so the third dentist witch at first I though was very nice and professional did part of a root canal to tooth #30 because he said we can save the tooth I as of now have a temp cap on that tooth and I m supposed to go back 2 weeks to get it finished Now when he did the xrays the tooth looked fine the jaw bone was fine no abscess or dark areas in the bone but the inside of my tooth had decade very close to the pulp inside causing it to be very pain full when I was numbed I couldn t feel the pain of my toothache any more and was very happy until the root canal I couldn t feel anything except for at the very bottom of my tooth with some kind of needle when he touched it it hurt more then my toothache ever did so after I went home he perscride antibiotics 4times a day And pain meds I take them accordingly after the numbing wore off my jaw is swollen from the tooth to the bottom of my neck I can not open my mouth I can not eat I can not drink or swollow and I could hardly breath and under my toung was swollen too but I waited a few days to see if the swelling would go down it did not and the pain got worse yesterday witch was day 4 after my root canal I went back to the dentist I told him what was wrong he was very rude and kept reminding me I wasn t supost to come back yet he said I was fine changed my antibiotics and gave me more pain meds and sent me on my way crying in pain he wouldn t even look in my mouth or touch my swollen neck or anything so I went to the emergency room they put me in a room and injected all kinds of steroids for the swelling and pain meds through an iv now today day 5 after my root canal the swelling went down due to the steriods i still have a hard knot on my jaw line under the tooth I still can t open my mouth it is still hard to swollow its still hurts in general I can barley eat or drink what is wrong with me and why can t anyone fix it I lost my job because I ve been in pain for so long and can not do anything but lay in bed and sleep it is so hard for me to stay a wake after all this happened what is wrong wit me : (

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complete explanation it is clear that you have a deeply decayed tooth and all the nerves that are present in the pump chamber are exposed as your tooth got fractured at the gum line causing nerve exposure and severe pain..

To be short and clear such kind of fractured tooth should ideally be removed/extracted as saving them can be tricky and can lead to painful failures of the treatment..

There is flaring up of infection in your case leading to severe inflammation and it is causing swelling and pain..
As now the swelling has subsided it is the best time to proceed to get the tooth extracted and I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can take an x ray to confirm the exact condition of the tooth and extract it followed by antibiotics and painkillers to relieve your pain and resolve infection..

Attempting root canal further can not be a wise choice as your tooth does not look to be in a condition to be saved..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
