Suggest Treatment For Painful Rectal Bleeding

Hi a few weeks a go I went to the dr because I was having some rectal bleeding with mucus and she got me to do a stool sample. Well a week after my appointment I went to the bathroom and a tamping came out and I have no idea how long it was in there. Since then the rectal bleeding had stopped but today I noticed it again and thinking back now I don t remember if the string was still in the tampon that came out?

Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

If i were your treating physician i would have examined your anal region to look for any fissure which can cause painful bleeding.for fissure i would have prescribed glycerlyl trinitrate cream which causes dilation of blood vessels and hence blood supply to internal sphincter is maximized.i would also have prescibed syrup lactulose or cremaffin.

In the abscence of fissure i would have done digital rectal exam and proctoscopy to look for haemorrhoids and any foreign body.thrombosed haemorrhoids can cause painful bleeding too . For these i would have prescribed daflon 500mg or doxium 500mg.these will need surgery at some stage.i would have evacuated foreign body i e tampon.

I would suggest you to meet a gastroenterologist to do proctoscopy and colonoscopy.

Thanks.
Hope the answer is helpful.
Further query will be appreciated.
