Suggest Treatment For Painful Knot On Head Caused After An Injury

I fell 2 days ago and hit the back of my head on a chair and the spot where I hit already had a knot that I ve had since I was about 3 when I fell and hit my head on the bumper of an 18wheelee trailer.. The knot is sore now and I have a constant dull headache that occasionally worsens.

I can understand your concern. As the knot is present since childhood, most probably it is either bone moulding or scar or calcified hematoma. No need to do anything for it.

But for pain and injury which occurred 2 days back, you should
: apply cold compresses at injury site to relieve pain and fresh swelling
: Keep your head at higher level than chest to relieve swelling
: take painkiller with anti inflammatory effects like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
If still no relief, you should consult doctor for collection/hematoma. Usually all symptoms subside in 7-10 days.

Do not worry about past swelling. Leave it as such.
