Suggest Treatment For Painful Knee After A Bad Fall

HI! Two years ago I took a hard hit to concrete floor with top of knee. The pain was extremely painful and could not put any pressure on knee. I could not even put my knee down on my mattress for many months. An MRI has been ordered through workers comp. Is there anything i can do to get some strength back in my knee and muscle around knee?
