Suggest Treatment For Painful Bump On Right Side Of The Neck

Yesterday morning I woke up with this bump on the right side of my neck near my ear. It s not visible but it feels small and hard kind of like a circle. It s very painful. Anyway, my question is, should I be worried or is this normal or should I consult a doctor?

Hello,

Bump on right side of neck could be due to an enlarged lymph node. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and aspiration cytology from the lymph node to know the nature and character of the lymph node.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
