Suggest Treatment For Painful Bruise And Lump On Foot

My son had a bench up in one end, and it fell on his foot. He had a golf ball size bump on his foot that night. That was three days ago. It still hurts, and is bruised on the top of his foot and three toes. There is also still a bump. Could it be broken?

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,

As the lump is very painful and hasn't decreased since 3 days, it's better to go for an x ray foot anteroposterior and lateral views. We should rule out fracture. Better it is done as soon as possible to prevent bone deformity and Mal union. Please do consult an orthopedic specialist for further evaluation. Until then, for pain relief, tab. Ibuprofen can be taken twice daily.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
