Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 77 yo white female and I have had a pain in my right hip/back area for a couple of days. It bothered me so much that I had to take 2 Tylenol 650 mg most of yesterday. It seems to be some better today but I just had a sharp pain between and across my shoulder blades. That lasted about 30 seconds but scared me to death! I basically am in good health. Excellent chol. with medication and same for BP. Barbara I actually feel somewhat better today (hip pain) and no more pain between shoulder blades. If I get it again, I will go to an Emergency care clinic nearby.
Welcome at HCM i have gone through your query and being your doctor I completely understand your health concerns.. Is there any history of osteoarthritis? Have done ever done your dexa scan?? Is there any history of trauma? Any associated fever? Any redness and warmth over hip joint? In my opinion your pain is mostly of either osteoarthritic type or musculoskeletal but you need to be examined properly before a reasoned diagnosis can be drawn. All u need to take rest and if pain is not bothering you continue with your routine chores but avoid stressful work. If pain recurs meet your doctor for proper workup. Stay safe and may you have a good time. Regards Dr Saad Sultan
