Suggest Treatment For Pain In Tooth After Eating Sweet Things

I don't know if I have a cavity. Tooth only hurts when I eat some sweet things (soft) and if I drink really cold drinks (Seems to happen in morning). Some days, no pain at all, while other days it hurts when I eat soft sweet things and drink some cold drinks. What could it be? I also have a gum opening where the tooth came in because it pulled some gum up with it and maybe the opening could be the issue? I had an x-Ray done last month and nothing showed up because I got a letter in the mail from my orthodontist saying they are still putting my braces on in 3 weeks, and I heard they won't put them on if I have a cavity.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in tooth on taking sweet and cold things indicate that there is a shallow cavity in the tooth and it is not to be worried as there doesnt seems to be a deep infection in tooth..
Consult a dentist and get the filling of the tooth done with a tooth coloured restorative material to prevent further spread of caries and relieve the discomfort..
In case of an open gum maintain a good oral hygiene and prevent food lodgement in that area to prevent gum infection..
You are correct that orthodontic treatment is not started untill all the teeth are free from cavities and there is not a big issue as after getting the filling of the tooth done the orthodontic treatment can be very well commenced..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
