Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've been experiencing pain in my tongue and throat. I noticed that I have little red spots everywhere and my tongue is slightly white. I also feel some of my tastebuds are kind of swollen towards the back. At the tip of my tongue it burns also. It almost feels as if I burned my tongue but I didn't. When I was brushing my tongue, it started to hurt very badly and it started to bleed. It scared me a little because I never experienced this before. It has been going on for a couple days now and i don't know what caused it. Also, drinking doesn't help and when I eat it hurts. Yesterday I couldn't taste anything but today I could only taste certain things. I would really like to know the cause of all this and what I could do to help it. Thank you.
As per your query as far as gums are concerned from the surface towards the lips the recession does not seems to be recessed neither any inflammation is seen.. Although the gums over the surface towards the gums are always more prone to infection and recession and may be recessed at that surface.. But from the labial surface [surface towards the lips] they does not seems recessed..
As far as frenulum is concerned it is high attachment and for this you should get it removed before the placement of braces for better results of the braces and faster closure of the diastema and not wait for the removal to be done after placement of braces.
If you have any further query you are most welcome.
If your query is resolved please give me a Five star rating and write a positive feedback as a token of encouragement and appreciation..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
