Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my father had a suprapubic cathader implanted two weeks ago and is now experiencing pain in his left testicle. he is in pain however I do not feel the pain is extreme but uncomfortable is there anything to help relieve the pain he has taken norco but it is only helping slightly
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The treatment of testicular pain will depend on underlying cause.Possible causes may include: -Infections like epididymitis or orchitis.Just the fact that he is on a suprapubic catheter is a risk factor for infections. -Diabetic neuropathy -Hydrocele -Hernia -UTI/kidneys stones -scrotal masses I will suggest you get him examined by the Doctor.Depending on findings at physical examination, test may be asked to confirm diagnosis like urinalysis, scrotal ultrasound.I will suggest he take a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen or aceclofenac in the meantime. Hope this will help Best regards
