Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having pain in my right elbow, the joint for the last 3 weeks. This is secondary to having just moved so I m guessing may Tennis Elbow . I did not injure the joint to my knowledge. by the end of the it becomes extremely painful. Especially when the arm is hyperextended. What do you suggest.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Knowing the exact cause of elbow pain without examination may be difficult. However, elbow pain may not always be serious.Tennis Elbow is just one of the possible causes of pain.Other possible causes may include: Bursitis, Dislocated elbow, Golfer's elbow, Osteoarthritis, Osteochondritis dissecans, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sprains and strains, Stress fractures, Tendinitis, Trapped nerves... Only a keen examination by the Doctor may help to identify the exact cause.I will advise you try the following: -Take a pain drug like aceclofenac -A local pain gel like voltarene gel for application -Ice/heat placement -Rest -Avoid lying on the hand that pains If pain persist, you see the Doctor for examination and investigations. Hope this will help Wish you good health
