Suggest Treatment For Pain In Stomach And Back During Last Week Of Pregnancy

what does it mean if you are having constant pain in your stomach and have bad back ache at 38 and a half weeks pregnant. I just had my 38 week checkup and the doctor told me I was 75%effaces, 1cm dilated and she stripped my membrane. What should I do? Could I be going into labor soon?

Yes!!! You could be in early labor...But until your contractions are 5 minutes apart for at least a few hours, or if you break your water or start bleeding heavily it may be a while. Membrane stripping usually causes cramping for the next 24 hours or so. You can and should see your doctor or go to the hospital if you don't feel the baby awake and moving at least every hour or two, or you have heavy bright red blood, or pain that is so severe you would want pain relief if available to you.
