Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ankle Radiating To Leg Post Injury

Me and my girl friend were out on the 31st of October and we had stopped at a gas station. I walked up behind her and accidentally kicked her in the outside of her left ankle with an eye on my combat boot. She has been experiencing extreme pain in her ankle and shooting pain up through her entire leg. The leg that she sustained the injury on feels like it is a hotter temperature then her other leg. her leg and ankle have also started to swell. What is it that could possibly be wrong?
