Suggest Treatment For Pain Behind The Head And Neck

Hello! For about a week now I have been having pain in my neck near my hairline. It hurts to move my head back and forth all the way. When I message it the pain increases and pain shoots into my head. Only on the left side. When I message I feel like there is a lump. Is this serious?

hi...you are feeling lump at the pain side..with that pain increases with massage and shoots towards brain..
it is quite difficult to answer without physical examination...
pain may go in both direction non serious and serious one..so better to have examined by doctor ..have x ray or ct scan done if advisable..
dont neglect it...
