Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling Behind The Left Rib

my wife has a sensitive, kind of soft spot that feels like it includes some kind of swelling behind and just below her lower left rib. Sitting in the car or on a chair too long makes it worse. She first noticed Jan 16 and has since increased the pain. Any suggestion what that might be?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since her symptoms are worsening with specific posture of body (sitting), possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more.
So ask her to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
2. Avoid prolonged sitting posture. Sit with proper back rest.
3. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
4. Gentle massage over painful area is also beneficial.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your wife. Thanks.
