Suggest Treatment For Pain And Bruising In The Calf

I have a weighted hula hoop, I think 5 lbs, that I was doing for about 1 minute. It fell down gradually and it must have hit against my left front calf just to the outside of my shin. Suddenly I noticed I had pain in my calf but when I looked down it was bulging out, I was able to massage it and it went down. the pain lasted a few minutes it is still a little sore to touch and I can see slight bruising. It was not that hard of a hit from the hula hoop.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetominophen to relieve the swelling. I also suggest using ice compresses for local applications and a compression bandage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
