Hi about 8 weeks ago I was diagnosed with overactive thyroid and put o 20 mg carbi.azole.It gave me an upset stomach and the doc decreased dose to 10 mg a day.after 6 weeks my thyoid levels went from 44 down to 11.doc has now put me on 5 mg a day and said to get bloods done in five months.I am worried that this is too long .may go underactive.how long do you thi.nk is reasonable until next blood test.thanks

Please upload your thyroid function reports to answer your question better. Hope you are mentioning thyroid levels 44 and 11 is of total T4.
We go by T4 and TSH values in follow up of hyperthyroidism. The initial follow up in hyperthyroidism is every month till T4 is normalised. Then it is every 3 months. So I feel 5 months is a long time.
As you have nicely guessed you may go under active or may develop side effects of carbimazole if the follow up is too long. So I prefer you have a follow up after 3 months.
