Suggest Treatment For Oral Thrush

Hi I started having thrush symptoms about 4 weeks ago so did what I have done in the past and used my external canestan cream normally 2 days and it s gone however this didn t go so I took oral tablets and used pessaries. I m on my 3rd tube of cream and the symptoms have eased but still not gone. I have seen my doctor who said nothing he can do. I also now have trouble with external piles not sure if that is what s causing my thrush like symptoms. I am now using anulsol for my piles and stopped using thrush cream as that seemed to be making the burning and itching worse. Please can someone help.

Hello,

Though you are talking about oral thrush but only examination can reveal whether it is oral thrush or other thing. Still, if it is oral thrush then it can be due to:
-Weakened immune system
-Diabetes
-Drugs like Hydrocortisone
-Poor oral hygiene

This disease mostly occurs due to weak immune system from conditions that I mentioned. This condition effects tongue, mucosa and is cheese like.

To tell you precisely what to do, I feel you definitely need oral examination by a dentist. As for the rest, you are using Anulsol cream that is a cortico-steriod and it can cause oral thrush because it depresses immune system.

I hope you will see a dentist and also get yourself examined by a physician to find if there is any systemic disorder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
