Suggest Treatment For Oily Skin And Recurrent Pimples

I have very, very oily skin and have developed sebaceous hyperplasia. I do not get any other pimples but these white bumps are getting worse and multiplying. I tried having the dermatologist cauterize them but not only didn t it work, it took six weeks instead of the normal one week time period that everyone says it takes to heal. I ve tried peppermint oil and apple cider vinegar. Everyone raves about ACV but I think it made them more prominent. Are there any new techniques to get rid of these unsightly bumps? Also can anything to be done for my oily skin besides using accutane (which was the only time in my life that my skin wasn t greasy)? Thank you!

Hi,

Oily skin is one of the most common cause of pimples.

Other causes of pimples can be
-Clogged pores.
-Oily skin.
-Hormonal Imbalances.
-Bacterial infection.
-Inflammation
-Excess sun exposure etc.

You should consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advise you to wash your face with Salicylic acid containing facewash. Apply topical ointment containing Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide. Apply retinoids like Adapelene gel in thin layer on pimples. Do cool compresses over face. Exfoliate your face twice a week to unclog the pores and remove dead skin. You can also apply a sunscreen lotion when exposed to sun. Oral Medication like antibiotics like Clindamycin or Minocycline and retinoid like Isotretinoin can also be advised. Avoid oily food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
