Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Toes

At first it just felt someone numb but now about two weeks on, my 2nd and 3rd toes feel as though they are crossed constantly (for two weeks) and now it almost feels like a string or thread is tied around one toe at the base... a month or so ago I was walking long distance training (10-20 miles) but that was weeks ago. Just wanted to make sure this isn t serious like a clot or something...49 year old male and in great health...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Some of the common causes of numbness in the toes are:

- Neuropathy
- Poor blood circulation peripheral vascular disease usually caused by diabetes.

I suggest doing some examinations to confirm the cause. Meanwhile, you can use painkillers such as acetaminophen and also vitamin supplements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
