Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Hands

I have sensitivity to cold on my hands and feet, but primarily on my hands. Three days ago I noticed my right thumb was numb. Then later a bruise appeared on the tip. I do not remember hurting my thumb at all. Can you help explain what this could be? Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello there,
With your history of sensitivity it would be prudent to get your circulation checked with doppler investigation in both hands and feet. This will help us rule out any occlusion which could have caused blood to not flow easily into your peripheries i.e hands and feet. If there is a decreased flow of blood there is pooling up of wastes in your fingertips which in turn cause numbness, tingling and sometimes bruising.

Hope this helps,
I would be glad to answer any further queries that you may have,
