Suggest treatment for nausea and excessive thirst after appendectomy

I had an appendectomy 3 weeks ago. Whenever I eat I become nauseous afterward. Food tastes either very bland or too salty, sweet, etc. I awake in the middle of the night very thirsty. I ve always sipped water throughout the day so this is not normal for me. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response

As a first line management you can take antacids/antiemetic combination like Pantoprazole-Domeperidone for symptomatic relief. Most probably it is due to postoperative gastritis. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.
