Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Cramps During Menstruation

Hi have a question revolving my menstruation. I am 18 and Since around 5th/6th grade i started having harsh cramps and uncontrollable nausea. It would start either the day before or day of my period and last about half to the entire day. Now it s been getting worse and last about 3 out of 5 days. The most pills I ve taken about 6-8 to get the pain away i try not to take this many but the pain hasn t gone away. I drink a lot of chamomile tea I ve tried Also heating pads to alleviate the pain, warm baths, I add ginger to some of my foods or even in just warm water. I tried to talk to a couple doctors about it before but they said it was normal or don t really give me answers. They say they couldn t really help me. Im very embarrassed about this type issue but I can t take it anymore. I can t hold food down I try to drink and eat healthy around my period time however it hasn t really made a difference. I also have diarrhea at times and migraines as well. My cramps start typically week prior and it s non stop till my ending of my period. I also have anemia I don t know if that could be a problem but I would like to share that with you just in case. The way I feel I honestly don t believe it s normal.....

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to menstrual pain.

Pain during menstruation is normal. Intensity may vary from person to person.

For pain, you can take tablet mefenamic acid.

Take a rest. Keep your self hydrated.

In case of severe pain, you may require an ultrasound abdomen and pelvis after gynecologist consultation.

For nausea, you can take tablet ondansetron.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
