Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It has been very humid and rainy here in Texas. In the last few days I have developed nausea and perspiring in my face. ..Feeling clammy. Along with sneezing, mucous drainage, and coughing, Could these be reactions to excessive mold in the outdoors which I am highly allergic to?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The symptoms you describe could be caused by coldallergy or a respiratory infection.Infectious causes are mostly viral and will need only symptomatic treatment.Bacteria infections are also possible and will need antibiotics.I will suggest you try the following: -Avoid cold and remain well insulated -Room air humidifier -Take an anti-histamine like benadryl -A mucolytic like carbosysteine -Take enough fluids -Regular nasal cleaning/blowing If symptoms persist, you see the Doctor to investigate for a bacterial origin and judge need for antibiotics. Hope this will help Regards
