Suggest Treatment For Multiple Fractures In Back And Degenerative Discs

We know my 95 year old mother has multiple fractures in her back and some degenerative discs. When she pushes on the right side of her stomach the pain goes clear to her back. She just had a CAT scan with contrast of her abdomen and pelvis and the only thing it showed was the fractures. Could this have anything to do with her bowels or is all back related? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain she is having is just back related and has nothing to do with abdominal organs. There is no a certain treatment taking count of her age also. The only treatment is to rest, pain management medications and calcium and vitamin D.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
