Suggest Treatment For Moderate Rheumatoid Arthritis With Less Side Effects

I am have moderate rheumatoid arthritis, which is fairly rapidly getting worse. My orthopedist prescribed D2, calcium and magnesium, which I have been taking for two wks. I have taken Celebrex in the past, which caused a significant weight gain. Can you recommend anything that is devoid of the very dangerous side effects of meds like methotraxate?

hi,for the question you have asked, need more details on history like since when the RA was diagnosed, what medicines are you on?Are you visiting rheumatologist for your condition? You have an autoimmune condition which progresses with time,so to control it you need proper treatment for it,and I consider you are on treatment for it and taking medicines that are required to control the disease. Are you doing regular blood check ups as suggested by your doctor? If you didnt consult a rheumatologist for it then I would suggest you to do so.There are going to be side effects of the medicines thats why you are adviced to do regular blood tests with 3-4 months interval. As per your response to the medicines they are adviced.Along with medicines excercising daily helps a lot.Physiotherapist can help you in learning proper methods of doing exercises which help in reducing the stiffness and keeps you more active.I would suggest you to talk to your doctor regarding the weight gain,to know what is the reason for it.a diet chart can help, following it might bring it under control along with jogging, exercising a little.
