Suggest Treatment For Mild Lower Arm Pain

I slept on my right arm a week ago. Awoke with pain in my neck and shoulder. The pain moved down into my arm the next day causing muscle spasms in my arm. The pains are not as severe but still continue in my lower arm and in my hand some also. The Dr. Took x rays of my neck and shows some compression of the discs in my neck. Is it normal that this pain has continued even after more than a week?

Spine Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

First of all you should mention your age in the query. This matters a lot because at old age changes are seen in spine which is normal.
Well if it is there for few days then you should take some pain killer along with muscle relaxant for 2 weeks and then if there is no relief then we will investigate you further.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anuj Gupta, Spine Surgeon
