Suggest Treatment For Lump Near Knee After A Bad Fall

Hi! I fell last night and landed on my left leg wrong, making a sort of grinding/cracking noise. When I bend my lower leg inward toward my thigh, a sizeable goose egg appears to the right (your right) of my knee. I've been fine to walk on it all day today with some limping. What could that be and does that render a trip to the doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
if you have an abnormal swelling in the leg, while on flexion, you may have to be evaluated by an orthopedician.
swelling redness and raise of temperature are signs of inflamation if you are limping also it miught be a muscular cramp or a sprain.
any way get yourself investigated by xray and get evaluated by an orthopedician
hope this explains
with regards
Dr.Amarnath
