General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely this is a dermoid cyst. These are skin cysts filled with fat and are due to blocked fat glands. They are generally not dangerous and can burst spontaneously or may stay unchanged for years. In some cases, it may grow as well.
Treatment is generally surgical. The area is numbed and the cyst is removed with the capsule as well. It is an easy and quick procedure that can be done in the outpatient office.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
